The role is responsible for leading daily hotel operations within a five-star, adults-only luxury boutique property, ensuring consistent service excellence and an elevated guest experience. This position oversees cross-department coordination, operational efficiency, and team performance, with a strong hands-on leadership approach. It is suited for experienced hospitality leaders with a proven background in luxury hotel operations, regulatory compliance, and service culture development in dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day hotel operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Security, Guest Experience, and coordination with F&B partners.
Ensure consistent luxury standards in service delivery, cleanliness, preventive maintenance, and guest journey touchpoints.
Establish and execute leadership routines including briefings, audits, checklists, SOPs, coaching, and accountability.
Proactively resolve operational issues, prevent recurring incidents, and improve systems using KPIs and follow-up.
Partner with ownership, general management, and department heads to implement improvements, manage costs, and protect brand reputation.
Ensure compliance with Costa Rican labor and operational regulations and support best-practice HR processes.
Maintain a visible, hands-on operational presence through inspections, guest interaction, and on-the-floor leadership.
Requirements
Experience: Minimum 3 years of Operations Management experience in a 5-star luxury boutique hotel or equivalent senior hotel operations leadership.
Regional Experience: Proven experience working in Central America, with Costa Rica strongly preferred.
Languages: Fluent English and fluent Spanish, both spoken and written.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability in team motivation, performance management, and service culture development.
Operational Skills: Strong discipline in SOP execution, audits, scheduling, vendor coordination, and incident management.
Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of Costa Rican hospitality operations and labor laws, or demonstrable local compliance experience.
